Learning Through Play

Ever wondered why kids love playtime so much? It’s because playing is their natural way of learning and exploring the world around them! Learning Through Play lets children discover new things in a fun and engaging way where they can experiment, solve problems and use their imaginations while building important life skills that are tough to teach with traditional tutoring.

The LEGO Learning System uses the power of game-based learning by combining the bricks and pieces we all know and love with cross-curricular lesson plans that encourage children to dive into the exciting world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) through brick building and creative storytelling.

Hands on = Minds on

STEAM Park comes with 8 double-sided building inspiration cards with 16 models to build and 5 activity cards to inspire playful learning that promotes science and maths while helping young children develop fine motor skills such as hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

Lesson plans cover a range of topics that young minds will already recognise, helping them make connections to the world around them and create a launchpad for inquisitive young learners for further investigation.

For educators and parents, there are a number of free online resources available from LEGO Education, including learn-to-build mini tutorial videos and teacher guides to give you the confidence to deliver fun, engaging and effective lessons.

Why STEM matters

The UK is at the forefront of technological innovation and STEM-qualified professionals are highly sought-after, but far more are needed to ensure companies can keep recruiting people with the skills they need to compete in the 21st century. One way we can address this is by helping to break down the misconceptions that Maths is pointless or Science is boring; to bridge the gap between children from underrepresented communities and ensure that everyone has the chance to shine.

STEM isn’t just about textbook learning; it needs a dynamic approach that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Picture your child building a LEGO robot that sorts recycling with SPIKE Essential or designing a mini wind turbine with BricQ Motion Prime – these are the types of hands-on activities that help kids understand the world around them and spark a passion for lifelong learning that could one day help change the world!

Discover. Explore. Challenge.
